McCall, ID - On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Michael McLean set out on his final great adventure. Born on February 12, 1955, in Arcata, California, Mike lived a life defined by curiosity, resilience, and a deep love for the outdoors.

He graduated from Boulder City High School and spent most of his adult life living in Nevada and Idaho. Growing up, Mike had the unique experience of living in America's National Parks, as his father worked for the National Park Service—an upbringing that helped shape his lifelong bond with nature.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Lorreine and Dave McLean.

Mike genuinely cared about people and approached life with warmth and generosity. He was an avid bikepacker and rock climber, always seeking out new terrain and challenges. An accomplished fly fisherman and dedicated bird watcher, he found both excitement and peace in the natural world. Whether navigating a rugged trail or standing quietly beside a river, he was most at home outdoors.

Professionally, Mike enjoyed a successful and distinguished career as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer, a field in which he truly excelled. He retired just recently, closing a chapter marked by dedication, integrity, and the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Mike McLean is survived by his loving wife, Kerri; his son, Dillon McLean (Annie), Montana; his daughter, Sara Jones, Idaho; his siblings, Scott McLean (Theresa), Oregon; Deanna Heisey, Nevada; and Darren McLean, Nevada; three granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, steady strength, his deep compassion for others, and the love he shared with family and friends.
