LINDA C. MCDONALD

Linda C. McDonald, age 72, passed away March 5, 2024, at her home in Boulder City, NV with family at her side. She was born October 31,1951 at Rapid City Air Force Base in Weaver, South Dakota to Elroy and Eleanor Jasmer. Linda married Charles Leland (Lee) McDonald March 21, 1981 in Las Vegas, NV and they had two children: Johanna (McDonald) Kugler and Frederick "Fritz" McDonald and later added her favorite son-in-law, Matt Kugler and favorite daughter-in-law Erika McDonald. Her favorite title was Grandma to her five grandchildren: Lilia, Lars, Kenneth, Claire and Caroline. The eldest of eight children, Linda grew up on a dairy farm in Central Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota while working full time in the restaurant industry as a waitress, hostess and manger. Upon graduating as a proud Golden Gopher, Linda moved to Houston, Texas to work as a property manager for Coldwell Bander and shortly thereafter relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked 38 years in the executive offices at the Tropicana Resort and Casino and was commonly known as Ms. Tropicana! Linda continued to work as the Personal and Executive Assistant to the former owner of the Tropicana until she retired. Linda loved to travel whether it was coasting down a European river visiting the cities of Amsterdam, London, Paris, or Budapest; to visiting Johanna and the family in Colorado; or being "drug" along on trips with Fritz, Erika and the grandkids to Disneyland, New Orleans, wine country, Mexico or Belize...she truly was a secret travel bug! Linda was a reader and wouldn't be found without a novel by her side. Every weekend involved some of her favorite things like baking, watching football, catching a great PBS show or perusing the local antique shops with family. Her love for chocolate and flowers perfectly embodies the spirit and joy she had for life. Linda impacted more lives than we will ever know and will be greatly missed. Services will be at 11am Sat., April 13, with a luncheon to follow, both at the LDS Church 916, 5th St, Boulder City, NV 89005.
