Joseph "Joe"

Zapolski born on September 4, 1935 and passed away on September 7, 2024.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Mary Jo; his son, Michael (Stacy); son, Tim (Stephanie); daughter, Ann; and beloved grandchildren: Alexis Banks; Haley, Luke, and Noah

Zapolski; and great-granddaughter, Khloe Banks. He is also survived by his sister, Jeannette (Don) Ries.

Joe and Mary Jo built a beautiful life with their family and friends in

Boulder City, NV. Joe had a

distinguished career as a chemist; first for Kerr-McGee in Chicago, and then as a Chemical Lab Supervisor at Molycorp in Moutain Pass, CA, until his retirement in 2001.

He loved sports, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and UNLV Rebels. He was known for his tell-it-like-it-is-unapologetic style, and for his famous toffee. Joe was also a numbers man and would spend hours in his chair working his Sudoku

Puzzles.

Joe is now reunited with those who preceeded him in death, including: his parents, Joseph and Zena Zapolski, sister, Helen, and brother-in-law, Al Conforti; and many other cherished family and friends.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held Saturday, October 12th, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV, 89005. A

visitation will be held October 12th from 9-9:45 a.m., the Funeral Service will follow, 10-11 a.m., and all are invited to attend the luncheon in the church hall from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The Graveside Service will take place 2-3 p.m., Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
