John P Smigel passed on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 76 years old peacefully in his home in Boulder City, NV. He was the loving husband of Sue (Kasbeer) Smigel. He was Born in Peru, IL. He attended LaSalle Peru High School and then attended IVCC after serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards, and watching sports (he was a Bears fan). He is survived by his children, Korena Verucchi of Peru, IL, Vince Chadwick of San Antonio, TX, and Jonna Bal, of Boulder City, NV., his Brothers, Greg (Lynne) Smigel and Scot (Natalie) Smigel, his grandchildren, Paige Pienta of Spring Valley, IL, Joseph Pienta of LaSalle, IL, Isabel Verucchi and Battista Verucchi of Peru, IL, and Jeffery John Bal and Ariella Bal of Boulder City, NV, 3 great-grandchildren Loki, Frankie, and Kyro, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John "Pete" and Jean (Hauger) Smigel and his brother Gary (Mary) Smigel. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
