In loving memory of our father, Barton Hoppe, who passed away on February 6th, 2024, at the age of 92. He was the devoted husband of Marion Hoppe and loving father of Robert (Susan), Doug (Meg), and Bruce (Robin). He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In high school he met his loving spouse Marion, and they were married before he went into the Army. After that he graduated from Penn State and began working at various jobs. He worked with his father in the restaurant business including opening his own. He then worked with 2 National restaurant chains before getting a job with the NPS under the Dept. of the Interior. He retired from the park service and stayed in Boulder City, NV. Bart was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and instilled that in his children.

If he wasn't traveling for work, you could find Bart doing many things with his family. His hobbies included, golf, shooting, scuba diving, fishing, building/flying model airplanes, and relaxing with a book. He loved to tinker and work on cars and many other activities around the home. During his retirement years, he and Marion enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV all around the USA, Canada, and Mexico. They could be found visiting family and catching up with old (and making new) friends.

One of the kindest souls on this planet, he faced challenges in his life head on with admirable strength and courage. Especially, caring for his wife, Marion as she endured a long battle with Alzheimer's and eventually passing away (2/9/2016) after 65 years of marriage.

He was a man of strong convictions, and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Dad, you are now at peace and reunited with the love of your life. You will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
